Alaca Mountain Antalya
Alacadağ is an impressive mountain located in the Finike district of Antalya, with an altitude of 2,328 meters. Situated on the Teke Peninsula, this mountain extends in a southwest-northeast direction and is approximately 30 km long and 20 km wide.
A large part of Alacadağ lies within the borders of Finike, while its western slopes extend to the boundaries of Demre district. The northern parts of the mountain are fragmented by normal fault lines, and the terrain gradually descends towards Demre. In this region, there are karstic depressions (uvalas) such as Göynük, Yeniyer, and Belören. Significant karstification is observed at the mountain’s peaks, where broad-based dolines are present.
The foothills of Alacadağ are dominated by maquis and garrigue vegetation up to 500 meters. Between 500 and 2,000 meters, pine species are common. Above 2,000 meters, alpine meadows and rocky areas can be found.
Due to its rare forest trees and pristine natural structure, the mountain was designated as the Alacadağ Nature Conservation Area in 1990, covering an area of 423 hectares. This protected area is home to more than 20 tree species and supports rich wildlife.
Address: Access to Alacadağ is provided via Alacadağ village, located approximately 25 km north of Finike.
