Alakır Valley stands out with its rich biodiversity and endemic plant species. In particular, Dibek Nature Reserve is home to various tree species, especially cedar trees. This area hosts the world's oldest known cedar tree, estimated to be 2,326 years old, commonly referred to as "Öküz Yatağı" by locals.

Named after the Alakır River, the valley's waters originate from the Beydağları Mountains and flow into the Mediterranean. The water is so clear that swimming here offers a truly unique experience! The region is also a habitat for many wild animals, including mountain goats, eagles, lynxes, and otters.

TheAlakır River is regulated by the Alakır Dam, which is used for irrigation and flood control. The dam was built between 1967 and 1971, creating a 4.28 km² lake and irrigating 3,263 hectares of land. Alakır Valley is a natural wonder covered with pine, cedar, and oak forests, and it is home to some of the world's rarest endemic plant species.
