EXPO Antalya

The international exhibition organization Expo in Antalya was officially opened in 2016. With the theme "A New World for Future Generations," it aimed to make a difference in nature, sustainability, and biodiversity. Antalya, which obtained the right to organize the Expo with the decision made by the Bureau International des Expositions and the International Association of Horticultural Producers on September 17, 2009, hosted Turkey's first Expo. Officially, 52 countries and unofficially, 3 countries participated in Expo 2016, which hosted various events and concerts featuring both local and international artists during its active six-month period. The A1 category exhibition, held on 1,121 hectares of land in Antalya's Aksu district, was officially extended for an additional two months from October 31 to December 31, 2016.

The World Botanical Expo, considered one of the world's largest events after the Olympics and the World Cup, has a 160-year history and was held in Turkey for the first time. In 2016, the event, themed “A Green World for Future Generations” and “Flowers and Children,” provided a broad platform for communication with participation from over 50 countries. The Expo site is located 20 km from the airport and 25 km from the city center, nestled in a tranquil area at the foothills of the Taurus Mountains. Surrounded by lush trees, flowers, and green spaces, the Expo site welcomes visitors with a spacious and fragrant area that exudes hospitality. At the event center, visitors are greeted by a stage where cultural events from different countries take place, showcasing unique natural beauty and environmental projects. The stage hosts dance performances, music shows, and various entertainment programs to offer visitors enjoyable moments.

After completing ticket transactions at the entrance booths, visitors are welcomed by the Expo information offices at the main gate. Here, they can obtain Expo area maps and event schedules to plan their visit. Additionally, they can opt for guided tours lasting either one or two hours. Throughout the Expo Antalya visit, visitors can explore various attractions, including the Turkey Biodiversity Theme Park, Agriculture and Biodiversity Museum, Grand Amphitheater, Peony Terrace Convention Center, Children's Science and Technology Center, Expo Forest and Pond, Expo Greenhouse, Children's Island, Expo Tower, Expo Square, Convention Center, Indoor Gardens, Health Center, Mill, Administrative Units, Art and Exhibition Hall, VIP and Press Building, Small Amphitheater, Cactus Garden, Peony Terrace, Turkish Houses & Restaurant Street, Time Tunnel, Mosaic Cultural Area, Ottoman Garden, Cultural and Art Street, Grand Amphitheater, Turkey Biodiversity Park, Children's Island, Expo Greenhouse Activity Area, Expo Forest, Medicinal & Aromatic Plants, Geophytes, Expo Hill, Outdoor Exhibition Area, Aquatic Plants Garden, Corporate Gardens, and University Gardens.
