Işıklar Street Antalya
Located in the heart of Antalya, Işıklar Street is one of the city's most vibrant and popular spots. Its proximity to Kaleiçi and Karaalioğlu Park makes it a favorite destination for both locals and tourists.
There are various legends about the origin of the street's name. According to Antalya's "civil historian" Hüseyin Çimrin, some believe that the street was named after Tevfik Işık, who introduced electricity to Antalya, but this information is incorrect. Çimrin states that even during the construction of the street, locals had already begun calling it "Işıklar Street," as it was perceived as a window opening to the sea and light.
The street remains lively 24/7 with its nostalgic tramway, various cafes, restaurants, and shops. It is particularly enchanting in the evening with its beautiful lighting, creating a pleasant atmosphere for visitors. Additionally, its historical charm and the handicraft shops in the surrounding area offer an authentic experience.
