Sand Sculpture Museum Antalya
Antalya Sand Sculpture Museum is a world-renowned open-air museum. Established in 2006 on a 10,000 square meter area in the Muratpaşa district, the museum is part of the annual International Antalya Sand Sculpture Festival. Sand sculpture art carries the philosophy that nothing is permanent and everything will eventually disappear. For this reason, these unique works that amaze viewers are exhibited for a short period and then demolished to make way for new creations.
Antalya Sand Sculpture Museum stands out as an attractive destination for art lovers, photography enthusiasts, and nature admirers. Its seaside location and surrounding sea views provide visitors with a unique experience. The museum is open throughout the year, but the most popular times to visit are usually during the International Antalya Sand Sculpture Festival.
The sculptures are skillfully created using approximately 10,000 tons of river sand, either individually or in groups of 2-3 people. Visiting this museum allows you to spend a day immersed in art and witness the fascinating transformation of sand. The massive sculptures on display range from mythology and fairy tale characters to marine legends and world wonders, inspiring visitors' creativity.
Located along Antalya’s beautiful coastline, the museum is an excellent option for those looking to experience nature up close. Walking through the Sand Park and enjoying the sea views further enhances the museum visit, making it even more enjoyable.
