Sıcan Island Antalya
The name of the island may sound interesting at first, but there is actually a simple reason behind it. When viewed from a distance, the part of the island near the shore resembles a small rat, which is why the locals named it "Rat Island" (Sıçan Adası). However, some sources suggest that the island was known by different names in ancient times.
Sıçan Adası is truly a paradise for sea lovers. With its crystal-clear waters, underwater caves, and rich marine life, it is an ideal spot for scuba diving and free diving. Diving enthusiasts can encounter caretta caretta turtles, colorful fish schools, and underwater vegetation here.
The island’s shores are calm and peaceful. Since it has a rocky structure instead of sandy beaches, it offers a unique experience for swimming enthusiasts. However, as there are no facilities on the island, visitors are advised to bring all necessary supplies before setting off.
Address: Sıçan Island is located in the Antalya Gulf, off the coast of Konyaaltı Beach.
