Beldibi Cave Antalya
Beldibi Cave is a significant rock shelter and archaeological site located near Kemer, Antalya, approximately 40 kilometers along the Antalya-Kemer coastal road, just at the exit of the Çamdağ Tunnel. Situated 25 meters above sea level, the cave stands out with its rich prehistoric findings.
Archaeological excavations in the cave have revealed six different layers belonging to the Paleolithic, Mesolithic, and Neolithic periods. Various artifacts, including flint tools, knives, arrowheads, sickles, seashells, and pottery fragments, have been unearthed. Additionally, rock paintings depicting wild goats, deer, and human figures are found on the cave walls.
During prehistoric times, Beldibi Cave served as a habitat for hunter-gatherer communities. Although it has suffered some damage due to natural erosion, it continues to attract visitors with its archaeological and historical significance.
