Geyik Mountains Antalya
Geyik Mountains are an impressive mountain range located in the southwest of Turkey, in the northeast of Antalya province, forming an important part of the Western Taurus Mountains. These mountains extend northward, marking the border with Konya and Karaman provinces, reaching the Taşeli Plateau.
The highest point of the Geyik Mountains is Geyik Mountain Peak, which stands at 2,877 meters and is located northeast of Gündoğmuş district in Antalya. Another significant peak is Sarıtaş Hill, which rises to 2,339 meters and is situated in the east-northeast of Gazipaşa district. The north-facing slopes of these mountains remain covered with snow even in summer.
Geyik Mountains are notable for their rich vegetation and biological diversity. Tree species such as Taurus fir, juniper species, kermes oak, cedar, and black pine are common in the region, along with maquis communities. Additionally, at the foothills of the mountains, within the Taşeli Plateau, lies Eğrigöl at an altitude of 2,350 meters, also known as the "Alps of Antalya."
