Olympos Ancient City Antalya
Olympos Ancient City is located approximately 30 km west of Kumluca district in Antalya. It is considered one of the most important cities of the Lycian civilization. The city takes its name from Mount Tahtalı, which is part of the western extensions of the Taurus Mountains, standing at an elevation of 2,375 meters, located 16 kilometers to the north. Situated in the southwestern part of Antalya, Olympos is famous for its coastline that stretches into the cool waters of the Mediterranean. The history of Olympos dates back to the 2nd century BC. According to sources, the founder of the city is Lycian King Olympos, who is mentioned in Ancient Greek mythology.

To the east of Olympos, about 300 meters from the beach, lies the stunning sandy beach of Çıralı, where Caretta Caretta turtles lay their eggs. The coastal dunes of Çıralı are home to various plant species. A few kilometers southwest of the city, flames continuously emerge from the southern slopes of the hill known as Çakaltepe.

Transportation: To reach Olympos Ancient City, you can take buses from Antalya Bus Station heading towards Kumluca and Finike. After getting off at the Olympos junction, you can reach the ancient city by taking a minibus or taxi.
