Due to its strategic location, it was used for defense purposes, but over time, it lost its significance and remained in the shadow of Antiphellos, the ancient name of Kaş.

The first must-see spot in Phellos is the Lycian Sarcophagi. One of the most remarkable remains of Phellos is its monumental sarcophagi, adorned with carvings that reflect the artistic understanding of the Lycian people. Some sections of the ancient defensive walls that once protected this city are still standing. Walking among the ruins, you may feel like a guardian from ancient times. Another striking feature of Phellos is its rock-cut tombs, a signature of Lycian architecture. These tombs, believed to belong to important figures of the ancient era, were carved into the rocks and have stood the test of time.
