Sarapsa Han Antalya
Şarapsa Han is located on the Antalya-Alanya highway, approximately 15 km west of Alanya, near the town of Konaklı. The structure has a rectangular plan extending in the east-west direction and measures approximately 71 meters in length and 12 meters in width. Built with large-cut stones, the caravanserai has a sturdy appearance thanks to the supporting walls (buttresses) on its exterior, giving it a fortress-like look.
The interior consists of a spacious hall covered with a barrel vault. The building is illuminated through loophole windows placed on the walls and four square openings on the vault.
The monumental entrance portal on the northern façade features remarkable stone craftsmanship. On the eastern side of the structure, there is a small mosque, also covered with a barrel vault and completed with a mihrab.
During its time, Şarapsa Han was used to provide a secure resting place for trade caravans. As part of the Seljuk Empire’s strategic policies for trade routes, this structure served as an important stop for both merchants and travelers.
